REFINED DISCRETE METHOD FOR CALCULATING STIFFENED ORTHOTROPIC SHELLS

The author proposes a refined discrete method for taking into account stiffeners in the simulationof thin-walled shell structures. According to method, it is necessary add different reduction factors along coordinate axes. For ribs directed perpendicular considered direction, factor introduced equal ratio of width this direction linear size direction. This supplements previously developed geometrically nonlinear mathematical model, which takes transverse shears and material orthotropy. model written as functional total potential strain energy can be used types shells by specifying Lame parameters radii principal curvatures. computational algorithm based on Ritz continuation solution with respect best parameter. software imple-mentation was carried out Maple package. applicability shown example orthotropic shallow double curvature, simply supported contour under action an external uniformly distributed load. Material were selected T-10/UPE22-27 0/90 Woven Roving E-Glass/Vinyl Ester fiberglass. A comparison made values critical buckling loads stiffening options (a grid from 0 12 each direction) conventional showed that are significantly overestimated, especially increase number ribs. Comparison results test problem experiments obtained other authors good agreement between method.
